We sought out the expertise of Katharine after we received funding via The SAFE Project to support the

transition of Year 7 pupils in our setting. Katharine undertook both 1:1 and group work with a group of
our Year 7s over the course of a term. The formulations and bespoke plans that Katharine worked
collaboratively with us to create were incredibly useful in helping us to develop a deeper understanding of
the needs of the pupils. We feel there was a genuine improvement in the emotional wellbeing of the
young people who participated in these group and 1:1 sessions. This in turn has had a positive impact on

Katharine to deliver some additional training to the whole staff team and we would not hesitate to access
further support from Katharine for any future training needs that we may have, related to her area of

Katharine spoke at our regional SEND conference on the topic of 'the roots of demand avoidance'. Her talk was extremely well received, with educational professionals from across the region commenting on its depth of insight, relevance to their learners, and practical usefulness for informing practice. Katharine combined expert knowledge with a personable and accessible style, with lots of relevant and relatable examples from real-life practice working with young people. I appreciated that she was keen to tailor the talk to our needs and was happy to discuss and exchange ideas in advance. I would highly recommend Katharine as a speaker and trainer!
